This week, I had the opportunity to take over the NL_Wetenschap Twitter account, where I’ve been sharing insights about my research. It’s been an exciting few days, discussing the fascinating interplay between genetics, parenting, and child development.
In my work, I explore what influences how parents behave toward their children. Some key questions include:
Genetics: How do genes shape parenting behavior?
Interventions: Can short, targeted programs help parents improve their interactions with their children?
Intergenerational transmission: How are attachment experiences passed from parents to children, and how do children’s own characteristics play a role?
My Radio Interview on NPO Radio 1
In the middle of this week, I had the chance to dive even deeper into these topics during an interview on NPO Radio 1 in the program De Nacht van. The conversation aired in the early hours of Thursday morning, where I discussed my research and its potential impact on families.
Missed it? You can still listen back here: https://www.nporadio1.nl/fragmenten/de-nacht-van/9d8a044b-28d3-4392-8a4e-f1b2ac0d0954/2024-11-21-bepalen-onze-genen-hoe-goed-we-onze-kinderen-opvoeden
As my time on NL_Wetenschap comes to an end (tomorrow), I’d like to thank everyone who joined the conversation on Twitter. It’s been a pleasure to share my work and connect with people interested in the science of parenting and child development.
If you’re curious about these topics or have thoughts to share, feel free to reach out!
